About Brian L. Armstead

Brian, 44, has been active in media for the past 28 years, having served in a number of positions in print, radio and television. He has enjoyed a lifelong passion for automobiles, and has been writing automotive features for the past seven years.

Brian is associate managing editor for African Americans on Wheels Magazine, a copy editor for Latinos on Wheels, and he writes a syndicated safety column called “Safe Passage for Motor News Media Syndicate.

He is also a contributing writer to a number of publications and Web sites, including the L.A. Times, the Washington Times Auto Weekend Section and the “Wheels Today” Web site.

For television, Brian is a contributor to the Major Broadcasting Company (MBC), where he speaks on automotive safety and automotive industry issues.

For radio, Brian has co-hosted a segment on XM Satellite Radio since May, 2003. The AutoSense segment features new car and truck reviews, safety information, and information on what car companies are doing in local communities.

For example, he said, “We will feature news of Nissan's The Path We Tread series for Black History Month. AutoSense is part of the program Too Much Information which airs nightly on XM channel 169.

Brian serves as first vice president of the Washington Automotive Press Association (WAPA). And he has previously served as second vice president.

Brian is an avid car buff, and enjoys driving his classic Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet with his eleven-year-old daughter, Eden.
